Thread vein removal at S3 skin and laser

Thread veins are red and purple blood vessels that occur in patches on the legs and face. They look like small spider webs, which is why they are also called spider veins (technically called telangiectasias).

What causes unwanted thread veins?

Red, blue or purple leg and facial veins can be a result of sun exposure, use of oral contraception, hormone therapy, age, genetics or pressure points like excessive nose blowing or sitting crossed legged for long periods.

How does laser treatment work for thread veins?

A cosmetic laser emits a prescribed dose of energy to the vein. The laser “selectively” targets the problem veins while sparing surrounding areas. After treatment, the vessel will naturally disappear.

How many treatments are required to remove thread veins?

Typically on average three treatments are required. Results vary, but can be seen in 3 - 6 weeks. Treatment time usually varies between 10 and 20minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.

Does laser thread vein removal hurt?

The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a series of rubber band snaps of the skin. We can often reduce or eliminate this by cooling the treated area with an air-cooling device. After treatment, there is no down time - which means you can resume normal activities immediately.
